I'm in the Navy and about to be deployed over to Iraq. I'm getting stationed with an Army Battilion. I've heard rumors that you can't use your own body armor. Any insight would be helpfull.
I'm really looking for a comparision of Dragon Skin and Inteceptor. I already have a feeling Dragon Skin is better. Anyone have stats on the Inteceptor armor currently issued to the military?
I've read the comments, and I'm still going to buy DragonSkin armor. If they say I can't wear it, screw em. What are they gonna do, send me home? Worst case they'll take me to NJP. I'll gladly take that risk rather than wear inferior armor.
Everything I've seen on this issue points to Dragon Skin as being the most effective, but I haven't heard much on Interceptor. My vest is second generation, made with Spectrashield, which is stronger than Kevlar, but not as effective as Dragon Skin, which is based on ceramic discs instead of fabric. When TSHTF, I'd prefer Dragon Skin.
